Those three simple word don't appear to be awe inspiring or fear worthy but they are the three most powerful words one can ever utter.
This week I've been suffering from great anxiety, and if you suffer you already understand that it sneaks up on you and comes and goes in varying degrees of debilitation. I didn't know why I was doing it, in fact at first I didn't even realize I was doing it. This is common amongst those that suffer from Anxiety and Depression. Only in retrospect do I have a theory as to why this is so common:
I believe that those that suffer from anxiety and depression are Cindyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01180754262647505228noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7969955883523447030.post-85566027015613119482010-10-15T03:22:00.000-07:002010-10-15T03:23:21.418-07:00Lesson 4: God's Promise - PEACELesson given October 12, 2010
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world!" - John 16:33
One of God's promises to us is that of peace. But in the midst of an anxiety attack, or a moment of depression peace seems like an impossible dream. It's easy to pray, praise and send well wishes to others, isn't it? But it's very hard to receive those same things for ourselves. I know you feel this way because I did for years, and at Cindyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01180754262647505228noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7969955883523447030.post-52722492061444732010-09-29T07:12:00.000-07:002010-09-29T07:12:21.308-07:00Lesson 2 - The Real MeSept 28, 2010 meeting:
"I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. My prayer is not that you take them out of the world, but that you protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of it." -John 17:14-17

I saw this cartoon on the wall where I work. It struck me as profound truth, and I wanted to share that with you. To often I make too big of a deal out of prayer. It does not have to be a complex ritual. It does not have to be filled with bible verse or formal language. While all of these things are beautiful, and have their place, many times prayer can and should Cindyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01180754262647505228noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7969955883523447030.post-71605721012137371592010-09-29T06:44:00.000-07:002010-09-29T06:48:51.590-07:00Lesson 1 - Something to GiveFrom the September 21, 2010 meeting:
"You are the light of the world." - Mathew 5:15
Every one of you has something to give, something precious and wonderful to share with the world. Our depression and anxiety serves as a prison from which we can not share our gifts nor receive the precious gifts of our Lord.
So I am going to pledge, and I ask you to pledge with me, that I will no longer Cindyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01180754262647505228noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7969955883523447030.post-69920227759687400572010-09-29T06:39:00.001-07:002010-09-29T06:49:32.733-07:00Meeting once a week now!The ladies in the group decided that they would like to meet once a week, and boy I'm glad that they did! You may not feel like a warrior. You may feel weak and beaten down by the world. But keep in mind that while warriors march into battle, they usually come limping back. And their wounds only serve to punctuate their courage.
Their scars and yours should become points of pride.
